Registration and support emails.

Most areas of the quit.ie website can be accessed without providing any personal information. Some areas, though, require you to submit your name, email address, and other contact details e.g. Registration and publication ordering. This information will only be used for the stated purpose. Information provided by you as part of the 'quitplan' facility will only be used for the purpose of delivering personalised smoking cessation support and will not be shared with any third party other than HSE contractors involved in the delivery of smoking cessation services on behalf of the HSE. Anonymised data may be analysed for the purposes of improving the service provided by quit.ie or gaining insight into smoking related behaviour. This information will not be attributable to any individual and no contact information will be included in any analysis.

Email Support

By subscribing to email support within the quitplan you are agreeing to receive a number of automated emails. You can unsubscribe at any time by logging in to your quitplan or clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.

SMS Support

The quitplan offers support through daily text messages, during the sign-up process you can choose whether or not you wish to receive these. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP QUIT to 50100 or by logging in to your quit plan.

Phone Support

As part of the quitplan service we provide a phone call from one of our trained advisors to explain what other services smokers can access to help them to quit smoking. During the sign-up process you can choose whether or not you wish to receive this call.

What other information do we collect?

The Health Service Executive,and/or its contractors collect data on visitors to the site. This is done through keeping records of the IP addresses which you use to access our site. The information is used by us on an aggregate basis only to assess levels of traffic to the site and the areas of the site users are accessing. We do not collect and evaluate this information for others.

Email

We receive and reply to email from users on a regular basis. For record-keeping purposes we retain copies of all incoming and outgoing email. Information in the email we receive and send will not be disclosed to any third party without the permission of the sender.
